july heat

Was July hot or what?

Another summer month is down and we’re one step closer to that fall weather (52 days to be exact but who’s counting?)!

But that does not mean we’re escaping that summer time heat anytime soon. Let’s take a moment and recap the weather for July.

Greenville saw 6 days where the air temperature rose above 95° and New Bern had 4 days. If that doesn’t make you sweat let’s factor in the moisture. Greenville and New Bern both recorded 9 out of the 31 days (that’s 29%!) where heat index values skyrocketed in the triple digits. Speaking of moisture though, one positive thing was the rainfall amounts for some areas. Both New Bern and Greenville had more than 1″ of rain above the normal values though some in the viewing area are still relatively dry.
