Pushing the limit with 1,000 mph winds…

The study of meteorology is usually focused on Earth, but other planets have their own unique types of “weather”. The planet Saturn, often considered to be the most beautiful of the planets, was once thought to have a rather bland atmosphere. The voyager series spacecraft disproved that theory in the 1980’s, by capturing images of cloud bands driven by frighteningly impressive winds. With speeds over 1,000 mph, Saturn’s winds are among the strongest ever detected in our solar system.
