Greene County residents rally against Duke Energy rate hike

SNOW HILL, N.C. (WNCT) — Community members in Greene County showed up at the Greene County Court House Wednesday to rally against a Duke Energy electricity rate hike.

Those who rallied said the rate hike is the company’s attempt to make the public pay for its coal ash pollution.

Those who rallied said the almost 17 percent increase is unfair.
