Investigation into ECU swimming complete; no team disciplinary action

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The investigation into ECU’s swimming program involving an incident reported on August 25 is over, and no team disciplinary action will be taken nor will any charges be filed, the university said in a news release Thursday.

All team activities were on hold while the investigation was underway.

The investigations were completed by the East Carolina University Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities and the ECU Police Department.

The Department of Athletics said it was informed of the inquest results by both entities Thursday.

The university said while the teams have been allowed to resume practice and team activities, the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities could make recommendations based on its findings for individual student-athletes who may be found in violation of the school’s student code of conduct.
