GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Law enforcement officers came together for a little friendly competition and fundraising in Pitt County Monday.
Law enforcement from all over the area teed off for the Pitt-Greenville Crime Stoppers annual Golf Tournament at Brook Valley Country Club.
Every year law enforcement leaders participate in a golf cart race.
The annual tournament consists of both civilian and law enforcement teams, and all the proceeds go to Crime Stoppers, which is an anonymous tip line that offers cash rewards for information leading to arrests.
The chiefs and Pitt County sheriff said the event is for a good cause.
“It’s just another example of law enforcement working together,” said Holtzman. “I think that’s the take away for me: It’s just that you can have fun, both on and off the field for us, and it’s good partnerships really make the difference.”
Winterville police Chief Ryan Willhite took home the crown in this year’s golf cart race.
