Pitt Co. PEP graduates recognized in morning ceremony

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Graduates of a Parent Engagement Program were recognized in a Wednesday morning ceremony.

Parents for Public Schools of Pitt County held the ceremony, handing out certificates and PPS t-shirts from Superintendent Dr. Ethan Lenker and PPS leadership.

Each month, the parents involved in the program met with school administrators and teachers in hopes of eliminating barriers and identifying resources available to students.

“As a parent, I’m able to know all the resources within our county, as well as how to interact with the teachers and the staff to better bring positive outcomes,” said Lindsay Annis, a PEP graduate and mother of two.

PEP graduates also shared their Individual Leadership Plans they’ve developed for schools in the district.
