Red Cross assists Duplin Co woman after Sunday house fire

DUPLIN COUNTY, NC (WNCT) – The Red Cross is assisting a woman after a fire damaged part of her home early Sunday morning.

Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire at the Warsaw home on South Pine Street. When they arrived, flames could be seen coming from the home.

Crews were able to contain the fire to just two rooms.

The Warsaw Fire Department said it appears curtains caught on fire while the woman was cooking.
