New Bern man charged in attempted armed robbery

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – A New Bern man has been arrested and charged with an attempted armed robbery that took place Monday on the 1200 block of Broad Street.

Michael Mayes, 24, was arrested on Thursday and faces numerous charges relating to the armed robbery.

He was placed in Craven County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
