One person dead in Beaufort County car crash

BLOUNTS CREEK, NC (WNCT) – One person was killed in a car crash on Saturday afternoon in Beaufort County.

Around 2:30pm, a car traveling southbound on Core Point Road ran off the road, struck a ditch and tree, and overturned.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol tells WNCT the victim, 42 year old Chad Tetterton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several crews responded to the accident. The road was shut down for several hours, and has since reopened.
