Edenton falls to Reidsville, 58-12 in 2A state title game

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) – Jaron Letterlough accounted for five touchdowns and Reidsville beat Edenton Holmes 58-12 on Saturday night in the Class 2-A North Carolina High School Athletic Association championship game.

Letterlough, selected as the game’s MVP, had 153 yards rushing with four TDs and caught three passes for 47 yards and another score to help the Rams (16-0) claim their sixth state title and their first since the 2009 team won the school’s third in a row.

Tanner Wilson was 10 of 16 for 108 yards and a touchdown and Brad Green kicked field goals covering 21, 25 and 34 yards for Reidsville.

Keimon Bailey rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown for Edenton Holmes (13-3), which was making its first title game appearance in the modern era.
