Teen arrested for multiple break-ins in Bethel

BETHEL, N.C. (WNCT) – Bethel Police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a string of break-ins on Friday.

Sgt. T.K. Leggett said Bethel Police responded to three residential break-ins on Friday. A homeowner was present for one of those break-ins, and was able to give police a suspect description.

During a third break-in, officers arrived and found a suspect inside with stolen property that they believe was taken from other homes earlier.

Bethel Police worked with the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office and arrested the 17-year-old. That teen is now in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $25,000 bond.

A 15-year-old was also detained.

Police say the suspects were connected to additional crimes in the area, and further charges and arrests may be coming.
