BELHAVEN, N.C. (WNCT) – Dozens of people looking to reopen Pungo Hospital in Belhaven were joined by the NC NAACP Saturday for a moral rally for healthcare justice.
North Carolina NAACP President Rev. William Barber attended the rally. He’s fighting to reopen Pungo Hospital, which closed in the town in July 2014.
The town recently got a judge to issue a temporary restraining order against the hospital’s owners, Pantego Creek LLC, who planned to demolish the building.
