Kinston teens holds turkey giveaway for those in need

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Dozens of people lined up on Saturday in Kinston to receive a free turkey dinner.

It’s all thanks to a partnership between Kinston Teens, Peletah Ministries of New Bern, and the Eastern North Carolina food bank.

Several families went home with not only a turkey, but also a bag-full of groceries, and toiletry items.

Kinston teens CEO Chris Suggs said his organization is founded on volunteering and loves giving back and taking part in events like this.

“From the volunteers to the people actually getting the food, everybody has been smiling. Full of excitement and energy so that’s just the greatest feeling of all. Just to have everybody excited about giving and receiving,” Suggs said.

Suggs said this is something he hopes to continue in years to come.
