Kinston high school hosts regional FBLA competition

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Students from 15 different counties in North Carolina traveled to Kinston High School Saturday for the FBLA regional competition.

Students took part in dozens of events; including presentations, mock interviews, and public speaking.

17-year Brandon Standley is FBLA vice president of this region and said holding the competition in Kinston showcases the potential leaders, learning right here in the east.

“It’s not about where you come from it’s about the effort that you put into it. If you put 100 percent into something you will get 100 percent out of it. I know that the people that work on the conference with me they’ve been putting in 100 and 10 percent and we are seeing the reaps of it,” Standley said.

Workshops at the competition also focused on dressing for success and social media etiquette.
