BELHAVEN, N.C. (WNCT) – Those looking to reopen Pungo Hospital in Belhaven will be joined by the state NAACP Saturday for a moral rally for healthcare justice.
North Carolina NAACP President Rev. William Barber will be in attendance.
They are fighting to re-open Pungo Hospital, which closed in the town in July 2014.
The town recently got a judge to issue a temporary restraining order against the hospital’s owners, Pantego Creek LLC, who planned to demolish the building.
The rally is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the hospital.
