GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT)- A JH Rose student has been charged after allegedly bringing a gun to school earlier this week.
On Tuesday, Greenville Police opened an investigation into a student allegedly having a gun on JH Rose’s campus. School administrators initially received a tip about the student and shared the information with GPD.
At the time of the report, officers were unable to find any evidence of a gun on school property, and they were not able to locate the student who allegedly had the gun.
On Wednesday morning, officers obtained photographic evidence they said places 17-year-old Dana Johnson, Jr. on school property with a gun. Johnson was then arrested and charged with having a weapon on educational property. He was booked at the Pitt County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.
Johnson is expected in court Thursday morning.
No one at the school was threatened or harmed or in danger. There’s no continuing threat to students or faculty members.
