Greenville police chief meets with community over cup of coffee

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Greenville police Chief Mark Holtzman spent Thursday morning meeting community members over a cup of coffee at Peaden’s Grill and Cafeteria off North Memorial Drive.

Holtzman said it was an opportunity for people to share their concerns and tell him what they want to see in their community.

He wasn’t the only one in uniform.

Several Greenville police officers handed out biscuits and also talked with people.

Community member Kevin Hines said it was a great event.

“I feel good about it; I really do,” said Hines. “I think the people that are in here feel the same way. And a lot of people are just stopping and talking to him.”

Holtzman said he’s going to try and do similar events once a month.
