3 charged with killing Durham man on his way home from work

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Three men are accused of killing a 33-year-old Durham man as he was walking home from work.

The Durham County Sheriff’s Office said in a release Thursday that 25-year-old Terrance Cradle, 36-year-old William Marrow, and 42-year-old Andre Hilliard are charged with first-degree murder. All are from Durham.

They are charged in the Oct. 20 shooting death of 33-year-old Eric Ray of Durham.

The sheriff’s office says charges are pending against 25-year-old Keith Laney, who is already imprisoned in North Carolina.

According to Department of Public Safety online records, Laney was convicted last month of illegally possessing a gun. He previously spent more than three years in prison for robbery, kidnapping and burglary.

The sheriff’s office says Laney will be formally charged later for his role in Ray’s death.
