LA GRANGE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office said they have apprehended one man and are still looking for another after a resident walked in on two men who broke into a La Grange home.

Lenoir County Sheriff Ronnie Ingram said when the father of the homeowner came home the two people who broke in ran off and left their vehicle behind. TThe break-in happened around 10 a.m. on Eason Road, Ingram said.

The father called 911, and deputies tracked the men using a K9 and a Wayne County Sheriff’s Office helicopter.

Ingram said deputies found April Long hiding in the house and Jamie Collins hiding in the woods.

Both Long and Collins are facing breaking and entering, larceny and resist/delay/obstruct charges.

Ingram said deputies were initially searching for  a third suspect but after talking with Collins and Long they are no longer doing so.

Collin and Long gave conflicting statements, Ingram said, and Collins may be charged with providing false information.

No one was hurt in the break-in and Ingram said the Sheriff’s Office is still investigating.
