BURLINGTON, N.C. (AP) — The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office has charged a juvenile with shooting and killing a man in Burlington last week.
The sheriff’s office told local media it would not release the male juvenile’s name because he is less than 16.
The juvenile has been charged with voluntary manslaughter in the Friday shooting death of 55-year-old Jonathan David Griffin. Deputies said Griffin was found dead at a home late Friday night.
An autopsy was being conducted Monday.
Deputies said Griffin was shot during a domestic dispute. Deputies say Griffin was living with his girlfriend at the home. The say the juvenile is a relative of Griffin’s girlfriend.
The woman suffered a minor injury when a bullet grazed her finger but investigators say there is no indication the juvenile tried to shoot her.
