GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – While many think of national retailers on Cyber Monday, 9OYS talked to some local business that also participated.
Shea Be Natural’s held a Cyber Monday sale, and manager Abdullah Muhammed said their number-one objective was customer satisfaction.
“It’s not all about money,” Muhammad said. “It’s all about making sure that the customer is satisfied and receiving the product at 100 percent.”
Muhammed’s natural soap and scrub shop offered a number of online deals, and just down the road, local boutique Catalog Connection also picked up on the Cyber Monday trend.
“A lot of people through our social media will ask if a specific clothing item is online, so we like to put everything in store online,” said Alyssa Birchard, a sales associate at the store.
Their sale was also offered in-store and online.
“I think this year we’ve done more promotions online because we’ve noticed that people want to shop online from the comfort of their own home,” Birchard said.
Birchard said it is another way for small businesses to compete with national chains.
“I think people really like shopping local and supporting small businesses so they gravitate more towards the small business online stores,” Birchard said.
Muhammad said their product started online then grew.
“What you see in small business is great quality as well as quantity,” Muhammed said.
