Pirates end season with 37-10 loss at Temple

PHILADELPHIA (WNCT) – East Carolina fell at Temple, 37-10 on Saturday night to complete the Pirate’s 3-9 season.

East Carolina’s Zay Jones was once again the lone bright spot. Jones set the single season NCAA receptions mark with a catch late in the second quarter in Saturday’s game. Jones caught 7 passes for 61 yards. He finished the season with an NCAA record 158 receptions. He broke Justin Hardy’s NCAA all-time mark last week.

The Pirates scored first in the game on a strike from Gardner Minshew to Jimmy Williams. Temple then outscored the Pirates 37-3 the rest of the way.

Temple will take on Navy for the American Athletic Conference championship next week.
