Local Christmas tree sales start after Thanksgiving

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – For many, the day after Thanksgiving consists of listening to Christmas music and picking out a special tree.

This afternoon, many pop-up stores started selling big fresh Christmas trees and decorations. Macy Mann said her dad wanted to do something fun today instead of shopping at the big box stores. This year, they decided to switch it up, purchasing a real tree for the first time.

Mann said, “Well I want the big one because I can put a lot more ornaments up there, but they won’t let me get a big one.”

The family ended up picking a smaller Christmas tree, and Mann is still excited. We checked in on the cost of a tree. The average is around 50 to 75 dollars.
