Pitt County Sheriff’s office partners with Plum Tree Bistro; delivers Thanksgiving meals to area seniors

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT)- Spreading a little holiday cheer is what the Pitt County Sheriff, his deputies, and a handful of volunteers were up to Wednesday night.

For the fourth year in a row, the sheriff’s office partnered with plum tree bistro to deliver meals to dozens of area seniors.

“When you have so much and there are others that don’t have as much as you have, it’s nice to share it,” Plum Tree Bistro and owner and Chef Heather Vandersloot said.

Chef Heather made everything from turkey to green bean casserole and even stuffing.

Bags full of food were in disguise as holiday cheer. One recipient, 91-year-old Kathryn Nobles said the surprise made her day.

Over 100 meals were delivered. Pitt County District Attorney Kimberly Robb was also on hand to spread the holiday cheer. This is just one of the things the Pitt County Sheriff’s office does to check on area seniors.
