Craven County educators present school improvement plans

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – Principals from every Craven County school discussed education issues and potential solutions at a Tuesday meeting attended by the Craven County Board of Education focused on school improvement plans.

The principals told the board about teachers’ work ethic and how they hold themselves to a high standard to make sure students are getting a great education.

Superintendent Meghan Doyle said while they got a lot of positive feedback, there were areas that needed to be improved on.

“We have significant challenges like teacher turnover with our resources our teachers have in order to teach our students, and those are areas that we need to look and focus on as we move forward for improvements,” Doyle said.

Every public school is required to have a school improvement plan.
