NC A&T faculty members deliver supplies to Northeast Elem. students

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Communities in Kinston still trying to rebuild got a helping hand Monday from one of their own.

Faculty members from North Carolina A&T made the drive from Greensboro to hand deliver supplies to students at Northeast Elementary School in Kinston.

Administrators call it an inspirational day.

The mastermind behind it, the dean of A&T’s education school, is a Kinston native.

“Just to be back in Kinston, to be able to come back and give back to the city that gave so much to me,” said Dr. Anthony Graham, Dean of College of Education at NC A&T. He wasn’t just there to deliver material things. “Don’t ever pursue something just for money.”

He also had a message for the students.

“It was more than about the supplies, the long-term benefit of the conversation, hopefully, will resonate with these young people for a long time to come,” said Graham.

And of course what’s a visit from Aggieland without a little shout out. Let’s just say they’re starting them young.
