Several agencies respond to water rescue in Neuse River

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – Several agencies responded to a water rescue in the Neuse River Saturday.

Craven County Emergency Management says crews were called to assist in a water rescue around 8 o’clock Saturday evening.

Craven EMS says two people were aboard a boat that took on water when the wind picked up. Emergency crews say during the rescue a boat from Tri-Community also began taken on water. As a result, several other agencies were also called in to assist with the rescue.

Emergency crews were able to pull everyone to safety near Kennel Beach in Pamlico County.

The two people aboard the boat were taken to a local hospital.

Their conditions are unknown.
