GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – On Saturday Zay Jones set the all-time record for career receptions during the second quarter of East Carolina’s home contest against Navy.
Jones eclipsed former Pirate Justin Hardy’s mark of 387 catches to implant his name atop the record books.
After the catch, there was a brief stoppage of the game to honor Jones.
Coming in, Jones was the leader in NCAA FBS in four categories: receptions (139), receiving yards (1,473), receptions per game (13.9), and receiving yards per game (147.3).
Jones has already been nominated for the Biletnikoff Award, the Heisman award, and the William V. Campbell Trophy.
