ECU alumnus Justin Hardy returns to sign autographs, raise money for Hurricane relief

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Game day at ECU brought back some very familiar faces

ECU alumnus and current Atlanta Falcons football player Justin Hardy made his way back to Pirate Nation Saturday.

He stopped by the Red Cross to sign autographs and raise money for Hurricane Matthew relief.

Dozens lined up to sign their shirts and footballs.

While many fans were overjoyed with selfies and signing, Hardy said it means more to him to be able to give back.

“Being from this area you know ,Hurricane Matthew kind of hit us hard in this area for sure,” Hardy said. “I know my mom, her house was out of power for a long time so just anything I can do give back I want to do it.”

All proceeds benefit the American Red Cross, which has served nearly 825,000 meals and snacks and distributed about 15,000 clean-up kits to date.
