Pitt Co. announces dates for hurricane debris removal

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT)- If you still have debris cluttering your yard or road from Hurricane Matthew, Pitt County has set two days aside to help residents dispose of it.

The county’s Solid Waste and Recycling Department will remove and construction and demolition debris on November 28 and December 5.

This includes lumber, tile, insulation, pipe, and glass or metal. They will also pick up carpet, concrete, asphalt, furnishings, roofing and windows.

The removal comes at no cost to the homeowners.

The department asks residents not to add in vegetative debris such as branches or shrubs.

Anyone interested in the removal can call the department at 252-902-3351.
