Washington pharmacy tech charged with embezzling drugs from Wal-Mart

WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) – The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation charges a Wal-Mart pharmacy employee with embezzling prescription drugs.

The NC SBI says Benjamin Wilson was arrested on Thursday.

Investigators accuse Wilson of procuring hydrocodone without a current prescription.  The NC SBI says the embezzlement occurred while Wilson was employed as a pharmacy tech at Wal-Mart in Washington from December of 2014 to February of 2016.

Wilson faces 11 counts of Embezzlement of a Controlled Substance by an Employee of a Registrant.

The 29 year old was taken to the Beaufort County Jail and given a $30,000 bond.
