Update: Wife arrested in husband’s shooting death in Goldsboro

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – The Goldsboro Police Department charges a wife with her husband’s death after he was shot over the weekend.

Police say officers arrested the victim’s wife,  Christina Williams, on Thursday. The 26-year-old now faces an open count of murder.

Investigators say the arrest stems from a Friday evening shooting on the 400 block of Benton Street. Police say officers were called to the area after they received a report that a man had been shot while assaulting his wife. The man, Sudon Williams, later died at the hospital.

Police say Williams was not shot while assaulting his wife as previously reported.

Goldsboro Police say after further investigation, they determined that Williams had been shot during an argument with his wife.

Christina Williams is scheduled to make her first court appearance on November 21st.
