Local adoption company upgrades security during adoption weekend

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – It is national adoption weekend at PetSmart.

Dozens came through to get a close look at the pups and kittens up for adoption.

Saturday they adopted out seven puppies and one kitten.

Adoptable companion’s owner Tina Edwards said they’ve adopted as much as 20 pups in one day in the past.

She said due to cool weather and a home game for the ECU pirates, the turnout was low.

Edwards has also updated her security when it comes to adoption day.

“If we are set up outside, nobody is going to allowed anywhere near the puppy pins or the crates of the cages until everybody is unloaded and put in their spot,” said Edwards

Adoptions last all weekend and will begin tomorrow morning at 11-30.
