Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium visitors make donations in honor of Veterans Day

PINE KNOLL SHORES, N.C. (WNCT) – In honor of Veterans Day, Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium hosted a day of free admission to all visitors, while making sure they gave back to the community.

From canned goods to boxes of nonperishable food, visitors donated thousands of goods to help needy families in the community.

For many, Veterans Day is an opportunity to pay it forward.

“We’re giving back today because we never know when we’re going to be in that kind of situation where we need the help,” said Jasmine Crow, a visitor at the aquarium. “We also want to thank our vets today with it being Veterans Day.”

Pine Knoll Shores also hosted a blood drive Friday.

The director said it is one of the busiest days of the year for the aquarium.
