Man shot to death in Winston-Salem, no arrests reported

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Police in Winston-Salem are investigating after a man has died after being shot.

Police said in a news release that officers were called to a reported shooting shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday.

They found 36-year-old Acara Goldsmith suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Goldsmith was taken to Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem where he died.

No arrests have been reported.

Police said it was the 22nd homicide of the year in the city.
