City of Greenville considers sister city program with South Korea

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Greenville City Council is discussing plans to bring a sister city program to Greenville.

It would connect Greenville with the city of Yeonsu in South Korea.

Human relations chair holder Byung Lee said the program could open doors for foreign exchange at East Carolina University and Pitt Community College.

“And later, we can build economic ties,” said Lee. “So we are hoping we can share and help with the development of this and better business for the Korean company, and also for our area.”

Representatives from Korea will visit Greenville next Wednesday to get a taste of what Greenville has to offer.
