Lawyers, judges celebrate 50th anniversary of N.C. District Courts

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Judges and lawyers got together Wednesday at the Pitt County Courthouse to observe the 50th anniversary of North Carolina District Courts and learn how to better serve their clients and the people of the county.

A continuing legal education seminar teaches the lawyers how to stay current on issues around the world.

County Chief District Judge David Leech said the seminar keeps everyone up to date.

“It’s important to stay up to date in any profession, and I think particularly with the issues (of) confidentially and social media,” Leech said. “It’s important to know the rules.”

Leech said he hopes lawyers are able to better serve their clients after the meeting.
