Brittany Franklin, Kayla Jones, & D.H. Conley softball headline National Early Signing Day

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Wednesday marked National early Signing Day for high school seniors across the country.

And dozens of athletes from the east inked their names to commit to play college athletics.

Plymouth’s Brittany Franklin announced her decision Wednesday to play basketball at Kansas University.

Franklin chose Kansas over Virginia Tech, East Carolina, and UNC-Charlotte.

In Williamston, Riverside’s Kayla Jones made it official, committing to play basketball at North Carolina State University.

And in Greenville, five D.H. Conley softball players accepted their offers to play college softball.

Grace Cochran is headed to Lincoln Memorial in Tennessee. Cara Davis will play softball at UNC-Pembroke.

Breanna Hardee is staying close to home, going to Pitt Community College. Emily Kirby is going to Liberty University.

And Makenna Matthijs is going down the road to UNC-Greensboro.
