Kenansville Elementary students go on symbolic Veteran’s Day run

KENANSVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Kenansville Elementary students went on a symbolic run Tuesday in honor of Veteran’s Day.

The students ran a mile around the school and then went through several obstacles like hula hoops and hurdles.

Physical education teacher Kristen Fowler said the purpose of the run was partially to remind them “our soldiers have to stay fit as well…They have courses and different missions that they have to go through to make sure that they can keep our country protected, and it’s not an easy task.”

After the race, students heard from two soldiers on hand about the importance of the military.

This is the fifth year of the event.
