GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Four juveniles have been arrested in a string of armed robberies that occurred on W. Fifth Street within the last week, Greenville police said.
Officers said they responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at the Moyewood housing development.
The victim told officers he drove to West Third Street to purchase a used cell phone when he was robbed at gunpoint by a group of males.
With the help of a K9, officers said they found several people hiding in a storage building in the backyard of a residence.
Based on interviews with the suspects, Greenville police charged them with the robbery on W. Third Street and linked a number of the suspects to other robberies in the area.
A total of four individuals have been charged in connection to the string of robberies.
In addition to the Third Street robbery, Greenville police have connected a number of the suspects to the robbery of a person on Conley Street and robberies of the Tobacco Dream Mart, Memorial Drive; La Sinalonese Mexican Store, W. First Street and Jimmy Johns, W. Fifth Street;
Jaheim Watson, 17, and Willard Acklin, 16, face armed robbery charges and are being held in the Pitt County Detention Center.
Two other juveniles unnamed by Greenville police are being held in the juvenile detention center.
