Values Bus Tour encourages voting in Pitt County

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – As the election draws closer, many groups are encouraging residents to get out and vote.

That was the goal of a rally hosted by the Values Bus Tour alongside the Family Research Council.

The group stopped in Pitt County Tuesday on its tour of all 100 counties in North Carolina.

Organizers said this election is all about “your values, your vote, your freedom.”

“We’re encouraging people to see how this fits into the national scope of issues, and how what happens here in North Carolina actually is going to affect states all across the country,” said Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council.

Speakers discussed many issues instrumental in this year’s election, including abortion, immigration and funding.

The bus has been on tour since September, covering 20 states in the United States.
