2 Farmville men charged in Pitt Co. armed robbery

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Two Farmville men are in custody in connection with an armed robbery.

It happened Monday evening just before 9 at a store located at Stantonsburg and Mozingo roads.

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday morning, that the suspects, 27-year-old Michael Dontavious Tyson and 25-year-old Billy Racel Tyson, robbed the victim at gunpoint. The pair were identified through help from the victim and video surveillance.

Both men were charged with robbery with a firearm or other dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by felon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a firearm or other dangerous weapon. They were placed in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.
