Tips to keep your trick-or-treater safe this Halloween

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – All types of ghouls and goblins are hitting the streets across the east as children go door to door trick or treating.

Trick or treating is a fun activity for kids, but it can also bring some stress for parents.

9OYS put together some safety tips to keep everyone safe this Halloween.

Encourage your kids not to eat candy while out, but instead wait until you get home so you can inspect it with them.

Always make sure the wrapper hasn’t been tampered with.

If your child have allergies, be sure to check the ingredients.

It may seem second nature, but just doing these simple steps can make for a safer Halloween. For more safety tips, head to the FDA’s website.
