Armed robbery reported in Uptown Greenville

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A ECU alert was sent out just after 5 a.m. Sunday notifying the campus community of a reported armed robbery in Uptown Greenville.

It happened at the parking lot on 3rd and Reade St. at around 2:30 a.m.

According to police, the victim was attempting to purchase a controlled substance from the suspects when he was robbed, allegedly at gunpoint.

Police said the victim told them there were at least five black male suspects.

The first male was armed with a handgun and was wearing blue jeans and a red top and was said to be about 6’0″ tall.  The second male was wearing a grey jacket and had shoulder length dreads, and was about 5’0″ tall and weighed about 120 pounds.  The third male was wearing a dark blue jacket with something red under it, and had short hair, and was further described to have a large build and weighed about 200-230 pounds.  The fourth male was wearing a red hoodie and had dreads that were tied up in a pony tail on top of his head that was highlighted, and he was about 5’7″ tall and weighed about 120 pounds.  The victim could not describe the fifth male in any detail.

The suspects were last seen heading away from campus on foot.
