JACKSONVILLE, NC (WNCT) – Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence stopped in Jacksonville on Saturday to garner support for presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Pence spoke to hundreds at the Jacksonville Commons Recreation Complex just after 3pm.
“I choose a stronger America, I choose a more prosperous America,” he said to the Trump supporters.
The VP candidate outlined what he and Trump would do if elected.
“We will rebuild our military, we will restore the arsenal of democracy, we will provide our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines with the resources and training they need and deserve, and we will hunt down and destroy ISIS at its source.”
Pence said this election is about preserving the constitution and putting the safety and security of the American people first.
Many who attended said they support Trump’s ideals.
“He is the hope for America to make it great once more,” said Judy Stephenson.
Keith Roomer said, “He’s gonna help our future and he’s gonna protect our rights.”
One thing both candidates agree on is the importance of voting.
