GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT)- Greenville Police report they’re investigating two armed robberies Thursday night.
The first happened La Sinaloense Mexican Store around 7:45 p.m. Master Police Officer Butts with GPD tells WNCT 2 black males entered the business, one with a t-shirt covering his face. That suspect went to the register with a handgun and demanded cash. One suspect is described as about 5’5″ tall, while the other is about 6’0″ tall. Police believe this may be connected to a similar armed robbery Monday night at the Tobacco Dream Mart on Memorial Drive, where the suspect had a white shirt wrapped around his face.
The second armed robbery happened at the Jimmy Johns on Moye Boulevard. One tall black male entered the back entrance of the business wearing a gray sweatshirt and black coat with a camouflage mask. He went to the register with a handgun and demanded cash. Butts tells WNCT the suspect pulled the trigger, but the gun didn’t fire.
In both incidents, suspects fled toward the Moyewood neighborhood, which is located near both businesses. Investigators also found tracks leading toward Moyewood.
It’s still unclear if these two incidents are connected.
