Goldsboro police investigating overnight murder

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – Police are investigating an overnight murder.

It happened around 1:08 a.m. when officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a “shots fired” call in the 100 block of Astor Court. That’s where they found the victim, 21-year-old Shai Taylor Valentine, lying unresponsive behind the apartments. Valentine sustained what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
