Town to hold retirement reception for Emerald Isle police chief

EMERALD ISLE, N.C. (WNCT)- After a 32-year career with the Emerald Isle Police Department, Chief Jeffrey Waters has announced his retirement. It’ll take effect Monday.

Tonight, the town will host a special reception in Waters’ honor and you’re invited. It’s to express appreciation for Waters’ service and wish him well in retirement.

It starts at 6 p.m. Thursday night at the Emerald Isle Community Center.
