KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – It is a busy time for Kinston.
Kinston Police Chief Alonzo Jaynes said his officers have not stopped working long days and nights since Hurricane Matthew. He said in the last two weeks officers have logged 2,100 hours helping storm victims.
Jaynes said they’ll work extra Wednesday to help with Donald Trump’s rally, which will take place at the Kinston Jet Center.
“We will assist the Sheriff’s Office with traffic control, so I’m just in awe with our men and women (who) are just so committed to the city. We want to provide the best possible service to our citizens.”
Tickets are sold out for the event.
