Craven Co. deputies: Fight between, landlord, tenant led to Havelock shooting

HAVELOCK, N.C. (WNCT) – An argument between a landlord and tenant in Havelock escalated to a fight that ended in a shooting Monday, according to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office.

Timothy Reels Jr., 27, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.

The victim was transported to the hospital with two gunshot wounds.

Reels is being held in the Craven County Jail in lieu of $5 million bail.

He made his first appearance  in court Tuesday and his next court date in November 15.

He has a court appointed attorney.
